The N'Kouf are a tribe from "the dark hinterland" of [[Klatch]] and [[Howondaland]] who were anthropologised by Lady [[Alice Venturi]] during one of her long travels through the region. She was very interested in their courtship rituals and collected a lot of material together in her books ''[[The Harem Frescoes of Old Klatch, Interesting Customs Among the N'Kouf]]'', and ''[[Travels in the Dark Hinterland]]''.
