1 revision: Talk Namespace

New page

After all, Tolkien's lawyers took on the Dungeons and Dragons people and made them re-write all the rulebooks and guides, in a way that omitted any mention at all, anywhere, of the word h*bb*t, which was held to be the exclusive intellectual property of the estate of J.R.R. Tolkein. Apparently, "halfling" was an adequate replacement...

Why do I get the feeling that every so often, either out of devilment or distaste for over-zealous corporate lawyers, TP sails as close as he dares in the murky waters where ambiguity may or may not meet copyright infringement... there is also Sauron's possible guest appearance in GP to consider...--AgProv 00:45, 30 April 2007 (CEST)

Anywhere in the universe? In the U.K. perhaps; I suspect the Tolkien pack would compare to the Disney® Corp's kennel as Miss Tick's toad to Slant, Morecombe & Honeyplace. --Old Dickens 17:50, 29 June 2008 (UTC)
Sauron
What was Saurons guest appearance in Going postal? there is no mention on the book page.--Beligaronia 07:11, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

:At some point there's a mention of a large eye, isn't there? Ah yes:
::(p352) "'It's still not working, Mr. Stibbons!' he bellowed. "Here's that damn enormous fiery eye again!'"

:Book:Going_Postal/Annotations. Sanity 10:48, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Ah, beaten to it... I was about to say that opinion is divided on this point and two equally plausible explanations for the Red Eye are given on the Annotations page for GP. Me, I'm romantic enough to hope it's Sauron peeking into the Discworld continuinuinuum from somewhere Outside...--AgProv 11:48, 22 August 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for clearing up that. But it turns out to be Devious Collabone after shellfish allergy doesn't it?--Beligaronia 11:38, 23 August 2008 (UTC)

Any reason for the comma thing in the title? --Confusion 00:53, 6 November 2011 (CET)
:I think it's like that in the compendium.--LilMaibe 11:46, 20 November 2011 (CET)
