	The odd thing in this case is that American English wants to remove all double letters, even when it appears to change the pronunciation, but here they default to sensible. I know that's without question NOT the intent of the author, but that's how my brain works. Love the new release audio books (listening to Thud! now) where the readers make acting choices about the voice for each character. Vimes sounds like the cops on English television cop shows. Of course he does! But he didn't when I read the books.
