Rhunlet Vard was an old wizard during the events of The Colour of Magic. He was one of the Ancient and Truly Original Sages of the Unbroken Circle (a.k.a. the Illuminated Mages of the Unbroken Circle) - and became head of the order upon the death of Greyhald Spold and one of the seven-and-one Heads of Wizardry at Unseen University. At the end of The Colour of Magic he was turned to stone by the possessed Trymon. As such he is now dead.
