The Order of the Honeybee is a group of individuals whom Terry Pratchett posthumously asked to protect his legacy. Each received a letter from Terry after his death, and was formally presented with a golden honeybee pin at his Memorial at the Barbican on 14 April, 2016.
The primary members of the Order are Grand Master Rob Wilkins, Lady Lyn Pratchett, Rhianna Pratchett and Sandra Kidby (who runs Discworld.com).
According to Colin Smythe at the Discworld Convention in 2016, the other members are:
- Mark Boomla, Terry’s accountant
- Stephen Briggs
- Rod Brown, previous director of Narrativia and a producer on most Discworld screen adaptations
- Philippa Dickinson, one of Terry’s UK editors
- Malcolm Edwards, another of Terry’s UK editors
- Larry Finlay, managing director of Transworld Publishers
- Dr Pat Harkin, Discworld super-fan and Pratchett’s go-to person for medical facts
- Paul Kidby
- Professor David Lloyd, chemist, previously of Trinity College Dublin and now Chancellor of the University of South Australia, both of which institutions awarded Pratchett honorary doctorates
- Kevin O’Malley, a fellow author
- Bernard Pearson
- Colin Smythe
- Samir Thantrey, Terry's accountant
