Wasn't 1688 also a year of civil unrest in Britain culminating in a Bill of Rights that took more powers from the Monarchy and transferred them to Parliament?--AgProv 23:04, 13 February 2008 (CET)
Yes, the year of the overthrow of King James II, by the grace of God (he thought) King of England. Not by Roundheads, though, no Old Stoneface, not even a short interregnum; a fresh king was imported from Holland.
