Carterhake Forest, by inference, is, or perhaps given the encroachment of New Ankh was, a heavily wooded area within sight of the city walls of Ankh-Morpork. Its most famous denizen, celebrated in legend and folksong, was urban bandit Wat Snood. The tale is relatred in Discworld Thieves' Guild Yearbook and Diary 2002.
