This is the great cathedral-like cavern at the heart of the History Monks' monastery, which houses the serried rows of Procrastinators and the control station that co-ordinates their backward and forward spinning of Time. In its description - one wall is given over in its entirity to a model of how the individual Procrastinators are reacting with each other and how the red and blue lights of past and future time are connecting and interacting - it is very reminiscent of the control room of a modern power plant, particularly of the New Clear variety. Given what an uncontrolled meltdown can do - regard what happened to Shoblang - one is reminded that a previous job of Terry Pratchett's involved working in the nuclear power industry. About which he said he'd gladly write a book, if anyone would believe it...
