Talk:Book:Dodger
Colin Smythe points out that the book is set in the alternate nineteenth-century London of the Nation universe. "Children's" indeed! Old Dickens 03:00, 6 March 2012 (CET)
In the sampler the "alternative London" aspect isn't immediately apparent. Maybe its the layout of London, or it gets "steampunk" later on, but the sampler reads like a historical piece. Marmosetpower 09:42, 2 June 2012 (CEST)
I loved this book. It is the best audio book I have listened to in my hours of work commute each day. I so enjoyed Dodger and all of the historical characters and antics, regardless of the historical accuracy. they were believable and so a part of what turned out to be a wonderful story, one I wish had another to follow. To hear the mention of each familiar historical character was like a welcome to the party to an old friend or foe... I think I have found a new favorite author. Since this is my first Terry Pratchet book, I can only hope that I will enjoy each of his many other books as much!
