Manicreach

A species of the Disc mentioned briefly in The Light Fantastic.

Little is known about the Manicreach, except that its entrails can be used in scrying. Just as an Agatean soothsayer reads the future from the entrails of a chicken in Interesting Times for Lord Hong, so too can Wizards see other parts of the world using the entrails of a Manicreach. One of the senior wizards at the time sought out Rincewind and Twoflower using the Mirror of Oversight, the Runes of M'haw, and the entrails of a manicreach. None of these approaches worked, and none of the other wizards had any better luck. This was a symptom of the beginning of the failure of magic across the Disc, as Great A'Tuin neared the Red Star.
