Crisp

...just Crisp; whatever his mother called him is not recorded. He is the gardener-cum-handyman-cum-general factotum at the Dearheart-von Lipwig residence on Scoone Avenue, making a staff of three with the Crosslys. Apparently, he is officially employed as gardener but he keeps a very well-equipped toolbox, and small emoluments for odd jobs which might have caused the young master physical effort make him "possibly the richest handyman in the neighbourhood". Multi-talented and self-reliant, he also makes cider in the garden shed.
