Hepzibah Whitlow

Hepzibah Whitlow was a former post-holder of the job of Civic Hangman and Public Executioner in Ankh-Morpork, who like Daniel "One Drop" Trooper also had a reflective and thoughtful approach to the job. Where they differed was that Whitlow was an amateur clock-maker who one day got the concept of the adjustable pendulum clock in a flash of inspiration, fired by something he saw at work...

It is not known if he was a relative of Mrs. Whitlow, the University housekeeper, or Granny Whitlow, the witch with the notoriously sweet tooth.
