Hergenland

Hergenland consists of two islands towards the Rim, which were settled by emigrant Hergenians seeking to escape gloomy weather, grey skies, continual rain blowing in from Llamedos and interminable sagas. However, the lure of smoked herring drew back many of the homesick emigrants. The traditional fur garb also did not sit well on people living on a sunny tropical island. however, one brighter-than-usual barbarian hero who decided to remain on Beowill Island and risk taking his furs off, on the grounds that the balmy climate and lack of bloody sagas made up for the scarcity of any sort of rollmops or sursstroming. His descendants are still there. These days they import preserved smoked fish from home.
