Morporkia
The embodiment of Ankh-Morpork into the figure of a matronly warrior-woman in flowing Ephebian robes and battle-helmet is often drawn by Fizz for the Ankh-Morpork Times. The suggestion has been made that she looks not unlike Lady Sybil Ramkin.
Care should be taken to ensure that nobody really believes in her. Otherwise the risk is run of creating yet another anthropomorphic personification as has already happened in Borogravia, where the Grand Duchess Annagovia manifested through Wazzer Goom, in response to a nation's fervent prayer for something to replace the insane Nuggan, and the vehicle of Wazzer's belief.
If anyone in Ankh-Morpork were to develop a similar fervent belief in Morporkia....
Annotations
Morporkia is clearly a sister to the Roundworld characters of Britannia and Hibernia, the national goddesses or representations of all that is British or Scottish, similar to those of Marianne of France and Lady Liberty of the USA. Britannia is commonly depicted as a fearsomely large but handsome woman wearing a toga and a centurion's helmet, holding a trident and leaning on a shield bearing the Union flag. The Fizz cartoon at the beginning of Monstrous Regiment shows an almost direct parody of the traditional representation of Britannia.
