Mrs. Plinge

Mother of Walter Plinge, and employed with him at the Opera House. She does odd jobs including serving drinks and cleaning. She insists he walk her home at night "so she doesn't get into trouble", but in reality she is protecting him from the casual cruelty of others.

She is encountered in Maskerade. She loves her son deeply and suspects he is the opera ghost but firmly believes that he would not harm anyone - although not enough not to worry when Granny Weatherwax decides to investigate the killings that are attributed to the ghost.
