Talk:Blind Io
"nobody seems to challenge Blind Io's position as chief of the gods."
Not entirely true: in Small Gods, Om, borne up to Dunmanifestin on the strength of a surge of renewed belief, exploits the situation by head-butting Blind Io and temporarily taking over, in order to end the Game and fulfil his promise to Brutha, so that the massing of Omnia's enemies in order to destroy the country completely might be halted.
Om, who is in any case temperamentally opposed to joining the posers and wasters in Dunmanifestin, was probably sensible enough to realise the temporary surge in belief that gave him the strength to overthrow Blind Io wasn't going to last for ever, and has wisely declined a rematch by staying away from the place. So Io remains, by default, chief of the Gods.
Re: Terry as Io. I doubt if The Author wants to be associated with that lot, despite The Telegraph's recent suggestion that he's found religion. --Old Dickens 17:03, 26 June 2008 (UTC)
- Where does it say Io came from another universe?--Beligaronia 10:08, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
- In The New Discworld Companion, anyway. I don't remember the canonical reference either. --Old Dickens 15:03, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
