Corgi PB p.27: "He would have fought in the Spanish Civil War except he got on the wrong boat and ended up in Hull." Whence Liverpool? Leaving Blackbury he'd more likely be sailing from Liverpool. --Old Dickens 00:56, 24 June 2011 (CEST)
I have my book right in front of me; it says: "He would have fought in the Spanish Civil War, except he got on the wrong boat and ended up in Liverpool." (page 18) My copy is a HarperCollins edition. Could that possibly have something to do with it? (Though I can't see why they would be different) --Zdm 01:03, 24 June 2011 (CEST)
- Oh,yes. That would have something to do with it. HarperCollins are the people who invented Alfred Spangler too. We refer to the original hardcover edition, which tends to be reproduced by Corgi (except for the typography that annoyed The Author in Reaper Man). --Old Dickens 01:10, 24 June 2011 (CEST)
