Henry Sloop was a postman who attained Hero of the Post Office status by setting the still-unbroken record for the largest number of sorry you were out.... cards put through the letterbox at the same address without ever once managing to deliver the parcel. His record of two hundred and forty-seven attempts to deliver was set over a century ago and has still not been equaled.
