This regiment was where the young Fred Colon got his first taste of Army service, presumably in the days where Fred was a middleweight and working up to the entry requirements for his next posting.
The name strongly implies that it is raised and maintained by Rodley family money, and that Lord Rodley (rather than his mother) is its notional Colonel in Chief. Given that Rodley is something of a "Fog" - thick and dim - it is to be hoped that he would let himself be steered by better military minds, in the event of war...
Annotations
