AFP seems to be slower than we are; no post for nine days, no new thread for a month. ABP is overrun by trollery and spammery. Pfui. --Old Dickens (talk) 21:02, 16 October 2018 (UTC)
Edit: It has three entries for the year 2023, L-space is moribund, is the wiki the successor? --Old Dickens (talk) 04:04, 17 May 2023 (UTC)
- Old Dickens, I'm not clear on the behind-the-scenes terminology here, as I wasn't ever part of the AFP world. (I lurked on ABP in the mid 2000s.) This wiki has an lspace.org address... that makes us part of L-space, right? Perhaps the last functioning part of L-space? I know Osiris maintains the engine room of this wiki, but who keeps the lspace.org domain functioning?Moishe Rosenbaum (talk) 00:20, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
I suppose Leo Breebaart still maintains L-space. I don't know if he has any help, but nothing has happened there for years, so it wouldn't be much trouble. As I suggested, we might be the last working part. --Old Dickens (talk) 00:41, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
- If nothing else, AFP offers a rich archive of Pratchett’s interactions with fans and discussions about various topics. I’ve used it as a reference and I know The Truth Shall Make Ye Fret podcasters do too. But yes, I see this wiki as the continuation of the old L-Space, as it's where new stuff goes. Possibly we should be duplicate old L-Space content over here (e.g. copying the entries from the AFP and FAQ etc), to make sure it stays accessible if the old site ever falters? -- Guybrush (talk) 08:16, 18 May 2023 (UTC)
Copying from L-space was forbidden early on, but times have changed, of course. You'd have to negotiate that with Leo and Osiris: not my area. --Old Dickens (talk) 04:23, 23 May 2023 (UTC)
